WASHINGTON, June 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Senator Christopher "Kit"
Bond today renewed his demand for an explanation from the Health
Care Financing Administration (HCFA) on whether the Missouri
Division of Aging (MoDA) has complied with federal standards to
protect nursing home residents, and took HCFA to task for failing to
prevent one Missouri nursing home from hiring untrained personnel,
directly involved in patient care "straight off the streets," as
alleged in a civil lawsuit.
Bond's comments came Wednesday in conjunction with the release of
a letter to HCFA Administrator Nancy-Ann Min DeParle, in which Bond
said he is "deeply troubled" that HCFA has yet to determine how
systemic ...
