STATEMENT BY THE VICE PRESIDENT ON EXECUTIVE ORDER INCREASING
THE PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITES FOR WOMEN OWNED BUSINESSES
The President today signed an Executive Order reaffirming our
Administration's commitment to meeting a five percent goal for
Federal government procurement of goods and services from women-
owned businesses.
Over the past three years the women's procurement goal has only
increased by 1/10 of 1 percent and this year we project that number
to increase only to 2.3 percent. The executive order signed today
