To strengthen the political voice of Americans with mental
illnesses, the National Mental Health Association's Voter
Empowerment Project on June 7 will train advocates from 19 states to
register people with mental illnesses to vote and become a political
force in their communities.
NMHA's Voter Empowerment Project ensures that people with mental
illnesses are full participants in the electoral process. Advocates
and people with mental illnesses learn to conduct targeted voter
registration drives by registering people with mental illnesses to
vote, survey candidates about their positions on important mental
