Article: Law Enforcement Group Says House Vote Cutting Child Care Can Mean More Crime

WASHINGTON, June 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- On a vote of 218-204, The House of Representatives today voted to eliminate $817 million in child care funding that had been approved by its Appropriations Committee.

Sanford Newman, president of the anti-crime organization Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, issued this statement on behalf of the 700 police chiefs, sheriffs, district attorneys and victims of violence who make up the group:
