WASHINGTON, June 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following was released
today by the Muslim World League:
The United Nations General Assembly convened a special session
for the five-year review of the Beijing platform for Action, adopted
by the 1995 Conference. This special session (also called Beijing-
plus-5) is taking place in New York, from June 5-9, 2000, under the
theme of "Women 2000: Gender Equality, Development and Peace for the
Twenty first Century."
Due to the importance of this conference, which is expected to
issue recommendations and decisions that have great consequences on
families and societies, The Muslim World League (MWL) is urging for
adequate representation of Muslims' views ...
