WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following was released
today by The Humane Society of the United States:
Will he or won't he? That's the question The Humane Society of
the United States (HSUS) and other animal protection and
environmental organizations are asking today as the Monday deadline
draws near on President Clinton's decision on whether or not to levy
trade sanctions against Japan over its international whaling
policies.
By law, Clinton must respond by Nov. 13 to a Commerce Department
petition asking the President to pursue sanctions against the
Japanese government after its fleets hunted and killed five
endangered sperm whales and 43 Bryde's whales this year as part of ...
