A season of "Oh, no" is quickly turning into a year of "What if?" for Winfield and second-year Coach Willie Wilson.

The Generals won their third consecutive game Friday night, stopping St. Albans' three-game win streak with a 20-14 overtime victory at Winfield.

Now 3-5 with games against Tolsia (4-3) and Herbert Hoover (2-5) remaining, Winfield has a plausible chance to finish at .500 in its first year as a Class AAA team. Such a possibility seemed remote when the Generals began the year with five straight losses.
