Winfield High established itself as a dominant program in Class AA athletics in past years.

But when the Generals jumped to Class AAA for the 2008-09 school year, many expected tougher times for the school's athletic teams.

Apparently, the school's volleyball team didn't get the message.

After advancing to the last eight Class AA State Tournaments and winning a state title in 2006, the Generals have rolled over nearly every competitor in their first Class AAA season.

On Monday night, Winfield earned its first postseason victory since making the classification jump, with an easy 3-0 win over visiting Nitro in Class AAA Region 4, Section 2 play.
