SYLVESTER - A bulldozer driver was killed in the collapse of a
coal pile at an A.T. Massey Coal Co. subsidiary in Boone County.
Larry A. Neff, 51, of Whitesville died Sunday at an Elk Run Coal
Co. facility in Sylvester, said Harry Linville, an inspector for the
state Office of Miners' Health, Safety and Training.
Ron Harris, director of the office, said there's been speculation
about what happened, but investigators are still trying to determine
what caused the accident.
