Here's one disturbing Y2K rumor we can put to rest right now.
On Jan. 1, Gov. Cecil Underwood apparently won't be cooking
breakfast for Office of Emergency Services workers on Y2K standby.
"No, no, no, I'm cooking the breakfast," asserted John Pack,
emergency services director. "The governor's invited, but I'm
cooking."
So that means no sweetbreads - Underwood's favorite snack, made
from various animal innards.
"Uh, no. This will be a traditional West Virginia breakfast,"
Pack said.
Whatever they eat, emergency services workers will be ready for
some grub on New Year's Day.
Starting at 8 a.m. Dec. 30, the state Emergency Operations Center
on Kanawha Boulevard will go on 24-hour alert.
