Article: A Herd of new stadium seats is coming: ; Marshall plans expansion after tonight's MAC game

ONCE the fans file out of their seats after tonight's Mid- American Conference football championship at Marshall University, additional seats will almost immediately start filling the stadium.

Within the next week, plans call for contractors to move the scoreboard in the south end zone to make way for about 10,000 additional seats. That will bring the stadium's total to about 40,000 seats.

With the addition, Marshall's stadium will be the largest in the Mid-American Conference. (Akron's Rubber Bowl will be second with 35,202 seats.) Marshall officials believe fans will buy the extra tickets.
