Recent delays are causing members of the state Public Port Authority to wonder whether they can meet a July deadline to decide whether to build the proposed regional airport. Port authority member Jim Bowen vigorously urged the organization to meet the goal. The port authority has been studying the regional airport for a decade.

"At the July meeting, we're going to have a vote or not vote irregardless of lawsuits, surveys, committees or anything else," Bowen said during a port authority meeting Thursday in Charleston.
