ROSE Marie Pfeiffer had to go into business selling purses. "I
was giving them away to everyone I knew and then it got to the point
where I had more purses than I had people to give them to," she
said. Her bags often are stitched using vintage fabric and trims or
fabric she rescues from garments purchased at second-hand stores.
"I've had more fun going to thrift shops looking for things,"
said the 72-year-old South Charleston resident.
Pfeiffer found the purse pattern several years ago and was
attracted to its simplicity. Each purse takes just a half-yard of
fabric, which is pieced together and sewn onto a 10-inch metal
snapping frame.
She calls the purse a Rosebud Whimsy ...
