The state attorney general's office has filed a suit alleging
that three companies sold caskets and other funeral products door-
to-door without a license.
Assistant Attorney General Chris Hedges said more than 250 West
Virginians entered into contracts with the companies' salespeople.
Companies that want to sell "pre-need" funeral products in West
Virginia, like coffins, must have licenses to do so, Hedges said.
They are not supposed to enter peoples' homes to sell the products
unless they are invited.
The attorney general's office is claiming that United Life
Insurance Company of America, United Benefits Life Insurance and
Celestial Burial Case, Inc. appeared ...
