Article: Letters to the Editor: ; MacCorkle Avenue red light too short

I cannot comprehend why a traffic stoplight is green for 90 seconds and then red for only 10 seconds (each time the lights change) at the corner of MacCorkle Avenue and Ford Street in Spring Hill, one block west of Thomas Memorial Hospital.

The speed limit sign located near Ford Street on MacCorkle Avenue reads 40 mph. Here, most vehicles speed and run the red light often. I watched this happening as I sat on a bench facing this corner, where I had a good view of the traffic ...
