MINNEAPOLIS - Emmitt Smith broke the NFL's career playoff rushing
record. Robert Smith broke tackle after tackle until he finally
broke the Dallas Cowboys' spirit.
Robert Smith rushed for team playoff record 140 yards and turned
a screen pass into a 26-yard touchdown Sunday as the Vikings beat
the Cowboys 27-10 in a wild card game.
The Vikings (11-6) will travel to St. Louis for a second-round
divisional game against the top-seeded Rams.
Dallas (8-9) lost its eighth straight road game, in large part
because Robert Smith is finally fully recovered from a midseason
double hernia operation, making the Vikings more than just a passing
threat.
