That's because everybody - yes, even the pigeons - believes the Charleston Alley Cats' affiliation with the Kansas City Royals is for the birds. Just ask around.

The informed say they will be very surprised if Charleston renews its two-year working agreement with Kansas City, which expires after this season.

The uninformed? Well, they tend to be a little more succinct. They think the Royals are something that just popped out of Rod Blackstone's favorite ballpark appliance. Toast.
