Article: Potomac State signs Paw Paw's Delawder . . . to play baseball

KEYSER - Josh Delawder, the premier scorer in West Virginia high school basketball history, has signed a national letter-of-intent to play baseball at Potomac State. Despite reportedly receiving some college basketball offers, Delawder said Thursday he chose baseball because it's his favorite sport.

In February, Delawder broke the 32-year-old state scoring mark held by Flemington's Paul Popovich. He led Paw Paw to its first Class A state tournament berth in 23 years.

The first-team all-state selection finished with 2,965 points.

"I've always loved playing the game," he told The Mineral Daily News-Tribune of Keyser. "I used to play all day and all night, and I think I have more potential.
