Increased competition has always been one of the arguments used by supporters of the proposed regional airport. But with United Airlines buying US Airways, there will be fewer airlines to provide service no matter what airports exist in West Virginia. "It's really not healthy for West Virginia's population base - regional airport or no regional airport," Mike Bright, a member of the state Public Port Authority, said of the recently announced deal between the two airlines.
