JUST when you thought it was safe to go back to the bookstore,
someone comes up with another marketing ploy. Sardine flavor jelly
beans. Or how about horseradish?
Yes, boys and girls, Hasbro has teamed up with the makers of
Jelly Belly jelly beans to bring you Bertie Bott's Every-Flavor
Beans, a confection that promises a taste adventure in every bag.
The idea came from J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter series of
novels. In Chapter 6 of the first book, the apprentice wizard picks
up a bag of Bott's beans, which purportedly contains jelly beans of
every possible flavor, including tripe, curry and pepper.
It must have sounded like a good idea to a marketing director ...
