Article: Cartoon Network set to air adult fare

ATLANTA - Atlanta-based Cartoon Network - home of the Powerpuff Girls and Scooby-Doo - has a message for its viewers: It's time for some adult-sized entertainment.

The network plans to step into edgier fare with the launch of a three-hour late-night block of new cartoons aimed at 18- to 34-year- olds.

In one proposed episode, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, through a mistake, find themselves facing possession charges. (Possession of what isn't spelled out.)

In another, there is a parental custody battle between Dr. Quest - Jonny's dad - and Race Bannon, Jonny's tutor. It's also implied that the two men are gay.
