Article: Comp Appeal Board's defenders still unknown: Lawsuit alleges improperly it improperly fired four black women

It is unclear who will be defending the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board and Sandra Teets, its office manager, in a lawsuit filed by four African-American women.

Peggy Austin and three other women say Teets unfairly fired them over the past 15 months, according to their suit filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court on Tuesday. The women allege Teets repeatedly called them "you people" and pointed her finger while criticizing them for being "insolent." Represented by Charleston lawyer Mike Ranson, the women also allege Teets violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act.
