IF you're someone who's tried every diet going, the chances are
you will have sampled the Cabbage Soup Diet. Celebrities who swear
by the world-famous diet include novelist Jilly Cooper, former Hong
Kong Governor Chris Patten and golfers Sam Torrance and Jack
Nicklaus.
The only problem with the diet is making the soup - buying the
vegetables and the hours spent peeling, chopping and cooking means
many people who've started the diet haven't finished it.
One of those who went on the Cabbage Soup Diet to reduce his
weight from 16 stone to 13 was Barrington Robinson, a 71-year-old
farmer from Worcestershire. Then he came up with the idea of air-
