HOSPITAL bosses have drawn up proposals to tackle a shortage of
specialists to help people with mental health problems.
Northallerton Health Services NHS Trust, which runs the Friarage
Hospital, has put together a bid for 200,000 to double the number of
people working with adults with mental health problems.
The move comes after new figures showed less money was spent on
mental health services for adults in Hambleton and Richmondshire
than in the rest of North Yorkshire.
The Friarage has made improvements in this area one of its
priorities for the next year, with a proposal to establish a new
team to work with older people.
