SINGLE women of the world, unite. Put aside your yoga mats,
brandish your Wonderbras, for it is time to reclaim the status of
being unmarried as a positive and fulfilling experience.
With the advent of the Bridget Jones movie later this month, it
has become fashionable once more in glossy magazines, tabloids and
broadsheets alike to discuss the issue of "singledom". This
prejudice must stop immediately. We are not some kind of foreign
species, available for poking, prodding and examination. We have
feelings. And we are capable of articulating them too - the problem
is that the married men largely in charge of our media are not
interested in representing them. They don't want upbeat stories ...
