SINCE Germaine Greer resurrected the pornography debate in the press several weeks ago, a number of quality newspapers have picked up the baton - but run with it in an entirely different way.

From reading such reports, you would be forgiven for thinking that we live in a society where pornography no longer degrades, exploits or abuses. You could be forgiven for buying the line about women's newfound, happy relationship with pornography - how they have made a friend of what used to horrify so many of them.
