MAYSVILLE, Mo. - To win a district championship, a team needs to
play like a champion. The Bishop LeBlond girls basketball team is a
perfect example.
LeBlond beat Trenton 51-38 Saturday night to win the Missouri
Class 2A District 16 championship. LeBlond (19-8) plays Pembroke
Hill at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in a sectional at Missouri Western.
"Instead of playing as individuals, we played as one team," said
freshman Taylor McCray, who led the Golden Eagles with 14 points,
including 12 in the fourth quarter. "We came together and we played
well as a team."
LeBlond (19-8) looked to have the game wrapped up going into
halftime with a 29-14 lead, but Trenton (15-10) came out of the
