Today is the last day people want to talk about spending more money.

After awaking early to the sounds of candy wrappers, broken hard- boiled eggs and little feet pitter-patter, most will enjoy Sunday services at their local church and think of what Easter really means.

Then they'll come home, sit in front of a traditional ham dinner with all the fixings - potatoes, deviled eggs, the works. Then it hits them what is due on Monday.

Yes, tax season makes Grinches of us all which could be a main reason why Santa Claus visits on Christmas morning, not Easter Sunday. But one local fund-raising effort deserves at least some consideration by St. Joseph residents.
