Deer Park residents sounded off against plans for a proposed
business park at a hearing Tuesday night.
About 200 of them peppered St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce
CEO Patt Lilly with questions and comments, including skepticism as
to whether their concerns will even be factored in.
"Personally, I don't think they care what residents think," said
Mark Werner, a Deer Park resident. "If the money is right, they will
do it."
Others wondered why the St. Joseph Business Park Corp. wants to
build near them. Mr. Lilly told them that Mitchell Woods Business
park is within 65 acres of filling, and the city needs another
business park.
