WHEN Mandrake revealed two weeks ago that the Countess of Wessex
had won the contract to undertake PR for Rover, neither she nor I
could
have envisaged the hullabaloo that would surround her company's
appointment.
Since then Sophie has had to keep her head down and, sadly now I
hear that although she had been expected to switch on the Christmas
illuminations in Bond Street, the organisers have been told she is
no longer available.
Given that she has several clients in Mayfair, Sophie was viewed
as the ideal choice to press the button for the Yuletide sparklers
