WE WERE always told that mother knows best. But in the Nineties
roles have been reversed and mothers now take advice from their
daughters on who to date and when to have sex.
Thousands of mothers, many of them single parents, have admitted
in a survey published to coincide with Mother's Day that they are
happy for their daughters to hand out advice on relationships.
Almost 50 per cent of daughters aged between 20 and 30 surveyed
by the campaign group Fab After Fifty, claim to take on the senior
role in the mother/daughter relationship, with 25 per cent saying
they act as "agony aunts". Mothers are also happy to let their
daughters advise them on sickness, health and diet.
