LATE Late Show has lost his unbeaten run of 16 races but the
black dog who runs for charity, remains favoruite for the Champion
Stakes at Shelbourne on Saturday night.
His defeat left a packed Dublin venue stunned as he tasted defeat
for the first time since January 13 Quoted at 1-7, he did not show
his usual sparkle and went down by a neck to Wish Kid. (30.28).
Late Late Show was slow away but moved into third approaching the
back straight and was nearly on top of the leading duo at the third
turn.
However, he failed to show his customary powerful finish and was
forced wide into the home straight.
Trainer Paul Hennessey blamed himself for the defeat saying, "I
