Megan Tresidder - who came to The Sunday Telegraph in 1986 -
worked hard, inquired diligently and wrote elegantly, three
qualities guaranteeing success. Newly arrived from Londoner's Diary
at the Evening Standard, she plunged enthusiastically into the
peculiar form that is Sunday journalism, quickly understanding that
the only qualification for publication was that stories be
interesting. By the time she left in 1994 she had become a regular
interviewer.
She was also luminously beautiful, a gamine whose metropolitan
