Santa managed to squeeze a used car into his sleigh for one tri-
state area family in need.
A Delaware County mother of two received a $2,000 car as a result
of the Telegraph Herald's annual Santa's Helper campaign.
"She cried when I talked to her, then she cried when she got the
car," said Sheila Freiburger, of Operation: New View in Manchester,
Iowa. "It was a real emotional thing. She said nobody had ever done
anything like that for her before."
The mother, who fled an abusive relationship with her 13-year-
old daughter and 12-year-old son, did not have high expectations
this Christmas.
"All she expected from the article was a new bicycle tire,"
Freiburger said.
