Beating Freeport Aquin one time was tough enough for East
Dubuque.
But if the Warriors want to extend the best season in school
history, they must do it again.
Today, the seventh-seeded Warriors and 20th-seeded Bulldogs face
off in an Illinois Class 1A quarterfinal at East Dubuque, with
kickoff at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to the state semifinals
against either No. 3 seed Sciota Northwestern or No. 6 seed
Lexington.
And if Sept. 22's 15-0 East Dubuque victory over Aquin was any
indication, that will be no easy task.
"We've got to be ready," East Dubuque coach Darren Sirianni said.
