A BUS driver targetted by stone throwing thugs is fighting back by creating his own football team.

John McGuire, 47, wants some of the bored youngsters from Roystonhill in Glasgow to join his team.

A month ago John told the Evening Times the housing estate had been turned into a "war zone" with young thugs regularly firing a hail of stones at the no. 329 service.

The Henderson Travel bus driver had seen missiles lobbed through his windows narrowly missing passengers while colleague James Hill, 34 was badly bruised after a golf club was lobbed through an open bus window.

But today Mr McGuire revealed he is fighting back with his own crusade to stop the violence.
