Article: STAY AWAY!; Fans warned as rain threatens Loch Lomond golf

TORRENTIAL rain is threatening to turn the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond into a wash-out.

The start of the #2.2m golf classic was suspended this morning after the Luss course was lashed by heavy showers overnight.

And the event organisers were even urging Scottish golf fans to stay away until the downpour eases - for their own safety.

Loch Lomond vice-president Keith Williams said: "Play is delayed and we're doing everything possible to get the course ready. It will take about an hour once the rain eases to get play underway.

"We are keeping the media updated all the time and are advising, at the moment, that spectators don't travel to the event. We will keep putting out updates."
