A Health Trust has been "hiding" more than a third of its total
patients on waiting lists, it has been claimed.
The crisis-hit North Glasgow University Hospitals Trust has a
'hidden deferred list' with more than 5000 patients on it making up
32% of its true total of 16,358 people waiting for operations.
The Trust's so-called 'official headline list' has a total of
just 11,049 patients.
SNP shadow health minister Nicola Sturgeon said it was another
example of fiddling waiting lists to keep their numbers down. She
said: "We have already had a scandal with the closed lists and now
we find they have found another way of fiddling the figures by using
the deferred list."
