Badgers probably infected a woman, her daughter and the family
dog with bovine TB, according to latest research.
A report submitted to the British Medical Journal has raised
fears over the threat of bovine TB to human health.
The woman from Cornwall was diagnosed with the disease late last
year, having felt unwell and suffered from a persistent cough for
some time.
Her daughter was also confirmed with latent bovine TB infection.
The report, which is due to be published in the scientific
journal Thorax, says badgers known to inhabit the woman's garden
were the "likely source" of bovine TB infection.
