MILLERSBURG -- It has a staff of three and no more room to store
paper documents. But without a county recorder, there is no Holmes
County.
"Holmes County is all deeds when you stop to think about it,"
said Recorder Sally Miller. "It's all made up of deeds held in the
recorders office from the beginning of the county."
Miller is retiring this year. Republican Anita Hall and Democrat
Gerald Bukosky are running for the position.

"We are kind of the heartbeat here, but we are overlooked. People
just don't realize what the recorder's office does unless you're in
it," Miller said.
