Article: Maritime exhibits pay homage to boatyard

Though The Big Shed at 222 Severn Ave. no longer houses the illustrious Eastport boat-building businesses of the past, it stands today as a renovated tribute to the city's place in maritime history.

Owners of the shed have converted the bare-bones industrial structure, once the stomping grounds of blue-collar workers and watermen, into swank business space with panoramic views of Ego Alley.

The building now houses the offices and conference rooms of Compass Marketing, Compson Development, Nortek USA, Distinguished Properties and Backyard Boats.
