Two former sailors from Plymouth have returned to the Torpoint
Royal Navy training establishment where they first met 48 years ago.
Peter Bailey, aged 68, and John Louth, now aged 71, met at HMS
Raleigh as young chefs in 1960 and have been good friends ever
since.
The two veterans were invited back to their old stamping-ground
and had the chance to reminisce with today's recruits to find out
how the Royal Navy prepares sailors for today's operations.
The two shipmates were also guests at the passing-out parade, and
joined families and friends in congratulating the latest recruits to
complete the nine-week basic training course.
