Judging by her wedding plans, Rachael Budowle's environmental
consciousness doesn't end when she leaves work.
As Blacksburg's solid waste community programs coordinator,
Budowle's workdays involve recycling and waste-minimalization
issues. She is also a professor in the earth sustainability program
at Virginia Tech.
The groom, Andy Arnette, has a similar philosophy on helping the
planet. Though he is a doctoral student in business information
technology at Virginia Tech, he is doing research on watershed
management.
"Anyone can do it. It's really not that hard," Budowle said about
incorporating environmentally friendly options into daily life.
