To weigh in on priorities for a master plan for school buildings and playgrounds, nearly 60 Brookline parents, teachers, and residents gathered earlier this month for a "charette," or a focused collaboration session, to set its parameters.

"We cannot put together a facilities master plan without the voice of the people," said William Carnes, with MGT of America Inc., a consulting firm hired for $97,500 to help set priorities for repair, expansion, or reuse of the town's eight K-8 schools and Brookline High School.
