The Dance Academy DJ jailed for allowing Ecstasy to be sold at
the club is to appeal against his five-year sentence.
Tom Costelloe - who acted as both DJ and general manager at the
Union Street club - was handed the sentence in July this year.
Club owner Manoucehr Bahmanzadeh, aged 51, was sent to prison for
nine years following the lengthy court case.
During the trial the jury heard how the pair had allowed the
'rampant' use and sale of Ecstasy in the popular dance venue.
At the sentencing Judge Francis Gilbert QC 'expressly' rejected
mitigating submissions and said both Bahmanzadeh and Costelloe
'deliberately promoted' the premises to be used for the supply of
the Class A drug 'to better ...
