MUNSTER fans have developed a powerful sense of history in recent
seasons, but their self-serving narratives will not be embroidered
by accounts of this match. Almost 20,000 of them welcomed their side
back to the glistening new Thomond Park, but its opening was marked
by a distinctly ordinary performance by the Heineken Cup champions.
With European rugby set to resume, Munster will have to improve
mightily if they are to hold on to their crown.
Credit, though, to Glasgow, who played more than a bit part in
proceedings on a filthy Limerick night. ...
