THE widows of two tugboat crewmen today called for a full public inquiry into the Flying Phantom tragedy.

Speaking after a damning report slammed fatal safety flaws, Helen Humphreys and Linda Cameron said no other families should have to suffer the same anguish.

Stephen Humphreys, Robert Cameron and Eric Blackley all died when the tug capsized in freezing fog. A report released yesterday by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch found a series of errors.

At a press conference today, Mrs Humphreys and Mrs Cameron said the findings left them "shocked and dismayed".

As well as pushing for a public inquiry, they are also considering legal action against Clydeport Ltd.
