Police are investigating the possibility an attack on a
Bangladeshi taxi driver in Scunthorpe was 'racially agrevated'.
The 25-year-old cabbie needed hospital treatment for serious
facial injuries following the attack by four men.
Police have issued an alert to taxi drivers on night shifts they
too could be victims of such attacks.
The warning came after the 2,000-strong Scunthorpe Bangladeshi
Welfare Association said the attack was the third on a taxi driver
from their country in the past three months.
A police authority meeting in the town's Greeson Memorial Hall
was this week heard more than 30 taxi drivers had demanded extra
police protection in the wake of the latest ...
