Joining a sorority on a college campus is a way to make friends
for a lifetime. Alumnae groups prove it.
Pi Beta Phi sorority has 131 collegiate chapters in the United
States with 329 alumnae groups.
"Pi Beta Phi alumnae in Dayton is 20 years old with more than 50
members representing 21 collegiate chapters," said member Martha
Boice of Centerville.
Her further research revealed that 12 women on the campus at
Monmouth College in Illinois started the sorority in 1867.
The local alumnae group provides financial help when needed to
the 90 members from freshmen to seniors of the Iota chapter of Pi
Beta Phi at the University of Dayton. Its house is at 333 Stonemill
Road.
