From tree-clad vales of the Dean Forest, to Frampton and
Framilode fields, so-blest,
where meandering Severn wanders through, by narrowed river flow,
a panoramic view,
waters running past are shallow and dank, below Cinderford along
the Broadoak bank.
Between Awre and Rodley's tidal interludes, Arlingham's peninsula
sharply protrudes,
when narrowing river waters, ebb and flow, Severn her muddied
sandbanks puts on show,
'til the rising waters cover shore to shore, fulfils the ancient
River Queen once more.
